Libraries and their communities: Growing Together!

Magale Fest 2025 celebrates libraries as hubs for lifelong learning and community building in a festive atmosphere featuring multiple family-friendly activities, including art making, live music and sing-alongs, an education student-led reading corner with a bean bag pit, a free all-genres (including kids' reads!) book swap, face painting, opportunities to get great swag (special bookmarks and tote bags), and even great local food trucks. Magale Fest will also host interactive exhibits from Walter B Jacobs Wildlife Refuge (featuring live animals), storytelling with Shreveport's own Robert Trudeau, offerings from the Shreve Memorial Library, and other community partners; we'll also be joined by Centenary academic departments and student groups. This year, we're especially excited for Hurley School of Music's instrument petting zoo, where visitors can try out a variety of musical instruments right here at the Magale Library!
