Accelerated Curriculum (BAC)

The BAC is an intense, fast-paced program that helps students achieve the BSN degree within four semesters. A new agreement between Centenary and NSU provides preferred admission to Centenary students meeting the requirements for the BAC program.

Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing

FastBacc is a rigorous, intensive 12-month program that combines traditional classroom learning, online courses, clinical and lab experiences, and hybrid interactive learning courses. Students who complete a bachelor of science degree at Centenary, including all prerequisite courses required by Baylor, will receive preferential admissions consideration over other non-Baylor students applying to the program.

LSU Health Shreveport Doctor of Medicine (MD) 

The agreement will guarantee an admission interview for the LSU Health Shreveport MD program for Centenary students who meet specific requirements, including a minimum 3.5 GPA and a minimum 504 MCAT score along with strong Centenary faculty recommendations. Representatives from the LSU Health Shreveport School of Medicine will coordinate and host pre-med information meetings at Centenary and visit the College annually to recruit students for the MD program.

LSU Health Shreveport School of Allied Health Professions (SAHP)

The SAHP physician assistant program is a 27-month academic and clinical experience that prepares students to provide comprehensive health care under the supervision of a physician. The new agreement creates a streamlined pathway for qualified students earning a B.S. or B.A. degree at Centenary to apply to the SAHP physician assistant program, including a guaranteed interview for students who meet the requirements.

The agreement creates a pathway for Centenary students to apply to the Cardiopulmonary Science Program and Centenary students will receive guaranteed admission into the CPS program when requirements are met. The CPS Program provides academic and clinical education leading to the Bachelor of Science in Cardiopulmonary Science degree. Completion of the CoARC-accredited Cardiopulmonary Science Program at LSU Health Shreveport meets educational requirements to apply for the Therapist Multiple Choice (TMC) exam by the National Board for Respiratory Care in order to qualify for the certification and registry credential as a Respiratory Therapist.

Requirements:

The LSUHS Physical Therapy Program offers an entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy degree for persons interested in becoming a Physical Therapist. The degree is designed for students who have completed a baccalaureate degree and required prerequisite coursework. The Program is a three-year program comprised of 9 semesters. The curriculum is aimed at producing outstanding clinical skills in Physical Therapy including, diagnosis, clinical reasoning, program planning, and therapeutic intervention.

The Occupational Therapy program offers a graduate degree leading to a Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD). The Doctor of Occupational Therapy program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)

Requirements:

 

The School of Allied Health Professions at LSU Health Shreveport serves as an off-campus instructional site for the School of Nursing at LSU Health New Orleans. Courses will be delivered through a combination of in-person instruction and synchronous distance education, where students in Shreveport will virtually join classes going on at LSU Health New Orleans. LSU Shreveport and LSU Health Shreveport faculty will also teach some basic science courses.

The Master of Public Health is a joint degree program offered by LSU Shreveport and LSU Health Shreveport and fully accredited by the Council on Education in Public Health. The curriculum is specifically designed to prepare public health graduate students for careers in a public health setting.

University of Louisiana Monroe College of Pharmacy (ULM COP)

A Memorandum of Understanding guarantees Centenary students an interview to ULM COP’s competitive Pharm D. degree program if they have completed the required prerequisite courses and meet the minimum application requirements for the program.

Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine

Centenary students will be eligible for a guaranteed interview at one of four VCOM campuses (including the VCOM-Louisiana campus in Monroe) if they meet the general admission requirements for the medical college as well as a set of additional benchmarks.

Tulane School of Public Health

This agreement allows Centenary students who have met the requirements guaranteed admission to the online Masters of Public Health program at the  All Students admitted to the program will receive a Public Health Early Access scholarship of $25,000  awarded in equal amounts over four semesters of the program.

Expedited admission review and notification

Centenary students who complete an undergraduate minor in Legal Studies, have an interest in public interest work, submit their application by December 1, and complete the LSU Law admission requirements, will receive priority consideration for admission to the The agreement also guarantees financial aid consideration and an early admission decision.
